Say No To Deep Blasting

 

Are you concerned about the environment, your property values, your health, your childrens future?  If the answer is yes, then you really need to be aware of what is happening and help stop it before it is too late!

Here are a few points you need to be aware of:
  1. The Strada Quarry would be the first blasting below the water table quarry in Dufferin County.
  2. Blasting and water degradation will transform Melancthon from an agricultural community to a mining community
  3. Blasting below the water table brings to each one of us serious risks of damage from
    1. polluted and diminished water
    2. carcinogenic silica dust
    3. flyrock
    4. explosion vibrations
    5. thick dust clouds
    6. environmental degradation
    7. intense heavy truck traffic.
  4. This is about greed not need. Ontario has an oversupply of licensed gravel.

Remember, this could go on for up to 50 years.  If approved, it will eventually lead to the return of the Mega Quarry.  It will bring comprehensive destruction of what we all value about our life here.
